HeyLatino has been following the controversy of a magazine spread by the Miss República Dominicana US 2008 and the site would like Mariela Lucas to tell her side of the story.

As reported by Miguelrosario.com, Mariela Lucas won the title in the beauty pageant last year but has since been under harsh criticisms after racy pictures of her spread in Smooth magazine surfaced and became the talk of the cyber world.

Since winning her crown, the young Lucas has been silent, staying on the sidelines as her US title is about to expire.

Her name recently surfaced on an Online report published by Dominican El Nuevo Diario, in which she was hopeful of winning the crown during Miss República Dominicana Universo but lost the title to Ada Aimeé, who will now represent the Dominican Republic in Miss Universe Pageant 2009, scheduled for August 23rd in the Bahamas.
