Boohoo… Luis Falcón, ex-proxy of the estate of late Cuban singer Celia Cruz, has to come back home and return what he stole.
According to Escándalo TV, a New Jersey Court ruled against Luis Falcón in a three-year old case in which he is accused of illegally appropriating of $415,000 in insurance money, after the death of the singer in July of 2003.
In the court papers, Gladis Bécquer and Ernestina Knight –sister and stepdaughter of Celia Cruz respectively– cite that Falcón and the late Pedro Knight (husband of Celia Cruz), persuaded the two women who had received the money of the insurance, to sign to them all legal power over the estate.
And so, when Falcón got his pay day (and Pedro Knight, not so lucky enjoys his share seven feet underground) he flew to Spain where he currently resides livin’ la vida loca.
He is expected to come back to the US in September where he will have to arrange payments of the dough he so much has enjoyed.
Let’s just hope the Euro exchange is sweet enough.
