Do You Text While Driving? This Could Be You!
A British Public Service Announcement is going viral on the Internet as it deals with a growing problem of horrible car accidents cause by distracted motorists texting on their mobile phones while driving.
The 4-minute mini-movie is part of a 30-minute-long short drama directed and produced by Peter Watkins-Hughes and used all real actors for the shooting.
The PSA is getting global attention for its graphic content. Critics in the United States condemn the government for not tackling the issue and airing its own series of similar PSA to create awareness, even though at least 1,000 car accidents are caused each year by texting, involving 16 and 17-year-old teens, according to a recent study by AAA.
At least 21% of these accidents are fatal. In the US, however, graphic anti-smoking commercials have been able to air amid public outrage.
